Reign of Assassins and College Exams

Hey! The legendary John Woo has a new movie coming out on June 22, 2011. It will be available on both DVD and Blu-Ray. The movie stars Michelle Yeoh (meow) as some sort of assassin that's trying to leave her life of killing behind. However, that all comes to a halt when others start looking for her. Sounds like your run-of-the-mill action film, but with Woo's pizazz I'm sure it won't disappoint.

On to other news, it looks like there's a decrease in the number of high school students taking college placement exams in China. It's been decreasing for a number of years and doesn't look to be slowing down anytime soon. This doesn't mean that Chinese students are looking for careers as pop singers and basketball stars, but it is a sign that many are studying overseas and because of the increase of money floating around China, families have an easier time paying for such an education. Also, with the one child rule there aren't as many kids entering the college level and it really makes you think about where China will be in twenty to thirty years when the population is mostly elders.


Anyway, on a separate note you should watch........"Replicant" because Van Damme plays a serial killer SPOOOOKY! Don't worry he also plays a replica....er clone...so he's a good guy too!

Okay. For those wondering, I'm quoting lines from the "Back to the Future" trilogy. Perhaps the best trilogy of all time! I mean, once "Star Wars" no longer held trilogy status and with "Lord of the Rings" still sucking ass, what other set of three films could possibly rank at the top? Yeah, I thought so.  Anyway, so what does this have to do with China. Oh nothing...except for the fact that they're trying to censor time travel movies! In China, the SARFT (State Administration for Radio, Film, and Television) has some wacky guidelines, which includes limiting and censoring western movies based around time travel. Who does this protect? And what does it protect? No one knows. Regardless of why....some of the best movies are based around time travel. Chinese people are missing out big time, but the biggest threat is the fact that they're now censoring Jean-Claude Van Damme! He stars in the greatest time travel movie of all time, "TIME COP!"

McDonald's to open 700 new stores by 2013

It seems that McDonald's Corp is planning a huge expansion in China. Currently, in China, there are 1,300 stores, so by 2013 they're aiming for a total of 2000. It will result in the hiring of 50,000 new employees, which includes 1,000 university graduates for management training. As of right now, McDonald's is expanding faster in China than in any other market in the entire world. All of this is a result from the increased competition in the fast-food industry. Yum Brands, which operates 3,800 KFC and Pizza Hut chains in China announced that they were planning on an expansion, but by buying out another company. What does Van Damme think about this.......let's ask!
